Nivrete Nisarga Park
Located approximately 55 kilometers from Cox’s Bazar city, the Nivrete Nisarga Tourism Park is nestled in a serene setting along the banks of the Matamuhuri River in Ward No. 6 of Surajpur-Manikpur Union, about 10 kilometers east of Jidda Bazaar in Chakaria Upazila. The river is 154 meters wide. The park was established in 2020 under the initiative of the then-District Commissioner. The park is surrounded by towering hills, with the winding river flowing between them. To enhance visitor experience, several lakes have been created by excavating land between the hills. For adventure seekers, the park offers speed boating and kayaking on these lakes. A short boat ride from the park reveals a massive white stone mountain, locally known as “Shwet Pahar” (White Mountain). The park also features a natural waterfall, along with a diverse range of wildlife and the melodious calls of birds. Additionally, several new attractions have been added, including the caves along Manikpur Road, a temple of the Rakhine community, the Lamba Mora tourist center, the ancient domed mosque of Kyuke, and the opportunity to enjoy stunning sunrise and sunset views from the river estuary.
Special advice
|
Tourists primarily visit this park for picnics, so they either bring their own cooked food or prepare meals on-site. As a result, there are no good restaurants near the park. If needed, it is advisable to eat at Chakaria Bazaar before heading to the park. Boat tours on the river are available from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
