Momin Masjid, Which Is Located In The Akon House Of Burirchar Village, North Of Mathbaria In Pirojpur District. It Is Basically A Wood-Built Chouchala Mosque With Tin Shed. It Is One Of The 23Rd Traditional Mosques In The World. Not Only This, This Mosque Is The Only Wooden Traditional Islamic Architecture In South Asia.
It Is Known That Maulvi Momin Uddin Akon Built The Mosque In His House In 1913 With The Help Of 21 Artisans From Swarupkathi Of Barisal District. Where Ironwood And Burma Teak Wood Are Used. The Momin Mosque Was Built In 1920 With A Mix Of Indo-Persian And European Architecture. Surprisingly, No Iron Or Star Was Used In The Construction Of The Mosque At That Time.
However, After The Mosque Came Under The Archeology Department Of The Bangladesh Government In 2008, Some Changes Were Made In The Original Design Of The Mosque During Renovation Work.
