Even if you are with a female companion, staying on the beach late at night can sometimes be risky. When buying or transporting anything, negotiate the price beforehand. Do not take photos of locals without their permission, and avoid getting into arguments with them. Help keep the beach clean—do not litter by throwing plastic waste, fruit peels, or bottles. The width of Cox’s Bazar beach varies, reaching 200 meters (660 feet) during high tide and 400 meters (1300 feet) during low tide. During low tide, sandbars emerge, making the area dangerous. Most tourists unfortunately lose their lives during low tide due to carelessness. It is advisable to avoid swimming on the beach during low tide.
