Which is Located In Meherpur District Town And Is One Of The Archaeological Monuments Of Bangladesh. This Neelkuthi Is Located In A Village Called Amjhupi, About 6 k.m East Of Meherpur District. It Is Spread Over An Area Of About 77 Acres Or Approximately 232 Bighas. Amjhupi Nilkuthi Was Established During The British Rule Around 1800 And Was Later Used As The Office Of “East India Company”. According To Various Historical Description, It Is In This Amzhupi Where The Memory Of The Mughal General Mansingh And Nawab Alivardi Khan Is Buried That The Chapter On The Battle Of Palashi Was Held. At That Time, The English Commanders Lord Clive And Mirzafar Conspired And Defeated The Last Nawab Of Bengal, Sirajuddaula, In A Battle, From Here The Subjugation Journey Of The Bengalis Began And Various Atrocities Of The British Began. The History Of Which Remains As A Witness In This Amzhupi Neelkuthi.

There Are Two Roads To Enter This Amjhupi Neelkuthi Situated On The Banks Of Kajala River. In The Middle Of The Complex Is The Main Building With 15 Rooms. At That Time These Rooms Were Used For Meeting, Music, Dancing And Entertainment. There Are Also Four Dressing Rooms And Directors’ Quarters. The Buildings On The West Side For The Residence Of The Directors And Assistants Are Currently Being Used As The Residences Of The Kuthibari Security Guards And Caretakers. Also, The Bridge Spanning The River Kajala And The Ghat Surrounded By Shanbadhano Seating Are Undoubtedly The Most Impressive And Unique Features Of This Kuthi.

After The End Of The Black Chapter Of Indigo Cultivation And The British Rule In The Subcontinent And After The Liberation War Of Bangladesh In 1971, The Bangladesh Government Took Various Steps To Conserve This Amjhupi Neelkuthi.
