Kanai Balai Dighi

Kanai Balai Dighi, which is located in Kachipara Union of Baufal Upazila of Patuakhali District. It is a traditional pond about 300 years old. Its length-width is about 200-140 meters.

It is known that the cistern was dug to meet the drinking water needs of the locals. Various folk tales are related to this Dighi-

It is said that two Hindu brothers named Kanai-Balai in the village of Kachipara thought that they were the branches of a palm tree and placed them on two huge gazelle fishes, which took the two brothers into deep water. The two brothers were never seen again. Since then it is known as Kanai Callai Dighi.

Also according to many, Dighi water has a spiritual power to fulfill the desires of the mind. If you ask for something from this Dighi with a sincere intention, it will be fulfilled. If someone taunts, then his danger comes.
