Kaptai Lake, Which Is Located In Kaptai Upazila Of Rangamati District. It Covers An Area Of ​​About 11,000 Sq Km. It Is An Artificial Lake, The Largest In Volume In South Asia.

It Is Known That In 1956, The Then Government Of Pakistan Built The Kaptai Dam On The Karnaphuli River For Hydroelectric Power Plant With American Funding. As A Result, About 54 Thousand Acres Of Agricultural Land In Rangamati District Was Flooded And This Lake Was Created.
